I have used Quicken in the past. It's hard to believe a company can make a product worse. Well Intuit has done it with the 2009 version. Don't buy this - you can't even import from Excel. You have got to be kidding me. At $25 it's garbage at their full price it's criminal

Very disappointed with the software and support provided from Intuit. It is practically useless. Unless you are a practiced user - stay away from this software.

I used Quicken way back in the 90's but got a free copy of MS Money at some point and started using it and never looked back until recently. Because they have quit developing MS Money, I bought Quicken as what I'd hoped would be reasonable alternative. While it does what it needs to do, the usability is just horrible. It takes way more clicks to accomplish the same things that could be quickly completed in Money. Additionally I'm not thrilled with the "annoy"-ware that just bugs the crap out of you to register, enter personal info, etc, when all I want to do is track and balance a few accounts (which it does OK, it seems). I'll now probably begin receiving a slew of junk mail and spam from Intuit. I can stop spam, not sure how I can stop junk mail.

Perhaps I'll get used to to the poor UI but after my first couple of months with Quicken I am regretting my purchase. I'm not sure what alternative there is other than [...].

I have used Quicken over the many years and always bought the updates. I only use it to track our investments IRAs(mine and wife). I purchased version 9 but can't do what I have always done before. I enter our few transactions manually and either of us may own the same fund or stock at one time. I have always been able to enter the same fund separately by changing the NAME (like Wife IRA Fund X) and using the same fund symbol. Previous versions tracked these items separately - I could tell in an instant how many shares either of us owned and the stats with each.

With version 9, when I change the name and enter a fund already owned by the other spouse it puts them together on the same line. It only allows one line entry for each fund/stock regardless of what you name it. I have contacted Quicken's support several times and they verify this change in version 9.

Thus, I can't use Quicken in the future.

Do not buy this. I was using Microsoft Money free trial and it worked fine. I just liked the look of the Quicken screen shots better so, I bought it. However, half of my accounts are not available on Quicken. They say that if you provide them with the financial institutes info and website, then they will set it up for you. After two weeks, nothing happened. The only accounts that worked for me was my stock accounts.....and who wants to see that these days??? Also, web connect doesn't work with my bank. After two weeks of back and forth troubleshooting, they tell me it is my bank and they can't help me. They have no answer for me when I ask them why the Microsoft connects just fine but Quicken does not. I didn't want to give this item any stars but I had to. So, do yourself a favor. If you are planning on buying this item, take the $50, wad it up in a ball and burn it. Then punch yourself in the neck. You'll get much more enjoyment and it will be less painful than you would if you bought this worthless junk.
